Church Life

Within the church structure, programs for all ages are growing, with vibrant church school, youth programs, and adult education. The church is committed to meeting the needs of those outside the church family, not only through its traditional outreach program, but through its annual youth mission trips, involvement with the Waterbury Soup Kitchen, Community Services Council and sponsorship of the Red Barn Thrift Shop, among other activities. Fellowship opportunities abound, with potluck suppers and fun gatherings developed by the church boards and committees.

First Ladies - visit our homepage
All women are invited to join the First Ladies of First Church!

Men's Fellowship Breakfast
If you are of the male species and hunger for some good cooking, join us for breakfast. We hope to gather as many men as possible and begin to dream and maybe define what kind of a fellowship this can be.

Bring with you your ideas, hopes, and enthusiasm for this fellowship of gents. We intend a monthly gathering throughout the year including some fun extracurricular events. It is not intended that this group be another committee, but rather a gathering of like minds and concerns that might take this group concept to creative and imaginative ends that can serve the church, our issues as men, and our desire to do some things together while feeding our faith.

We take turns doing the cooking, please come with your appetite and if you enjoy cooking, your spatula!

First Church Folk Artists
Every Tuesday, the First Church Folk Artists gather for fellowship and fun. Even those who think they have no artistic ability will find plenty to do and probably discover that they can do a whole lot more than they thought!

Join us on Tuesdays at 9am at the craft workshop room upstairs in the parsonage.

You'll find yourself refreshed with good company and tea, and maybe learn a new skill at the same time.
